Not everyone loves to head outdoors once the sun kicks into gear. Some people just want to kick their feet up, switch on the AC, and grab the remote or their favorite book. And there is not a thing wrong with that. With beaches jam packed and parks over flowing, staying in in the cool breeze actually sounds really nice.

Just because you are staying put does not mean you can’t experience new things. I’ve rounded up some great new things to binge watch and read this summer. Take a look and comment if you have something to add to the list!

TV Show – The Newsroom – You know when you binge watch a TV show and then it’s over and then you just want to cry a little bit? Yeah, that sums this show up.

TV Show – Downtown Abbey – You have heard of this I am sure. If you have not started this series yet, it’s a must see.

Movie – This is where I leave you – Go rent this right now. Tina Fey – enough said.

TV Show – CBS’s 13-episode drama Zoo – This is based on the bestselling novel by James Patterson. This could be a great series. Starts on 6/30. Creepy…

TV Show – Fear the Walking Dead – This summer show is geared towards fans of the original show The Walking Dead. Coming in August!

Book – Among The Ten Thousand Things – By Julia Pierpont – This novel is about the effect a divorce can have on a family and the road back. July 7 release.

Book – Go Set A Watchman – Harper Lee – How exciting is this! This novel picks up where Mockingbird left off 20 years ago. It is already breaking sales records and it won’t even be released until July 14. Pre-order this one now.

Movie – Serena – Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence star in this 2014 drama, set in Depression-era North Carolina and following the barren wife of an ambitious timber baron, who sets out to murder the woman who bore her husband an illegitimate son. July 9th on Netflix

Movie – Set Fire to the Stars – Elijah Wood and Celyn Jones star in this 2014 biographical drama about an aspiring poet in 1950s New York, who has his ordered world shaken when he embarks on a week-long retreat to save his hell raising hero, Dylan Thomas. July 1 on Netflix

Movie – Still Alice – Happily married with three grown children, Alice Howland is a renowned linguistics professor at Columbia University who starts to forget words. When she receives the devastating diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer's, Alice and her family find their bonds tested. Available now on Redbox.
